About Our Rescue
New Beginnings Shih Tzu Rescue is a 501(c)(3) foster home based non-profit dog rescue, that has been saving dogs since 2005.
We have foster homes located in Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, and Illinois.
We strive to Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Re-home any small breed dog, but we specialize in Shih Tzu’s. Our goal is to find the perfect home for every dog. They may have not had the perfect home before, but they deserve it now!

We Rescue
New Beginnings Shih Tzu Rescue is a volunteer-led charitable organization dedicated to rescuing small dogs in need. Dogs enter our foster care program from owner surrenders, shelters, animal control facilities, breeders reducing their numbers, and other circumstances requiring a safe and loving place to land.
We Rehabilitate
Our foster dogs live in the homes of dedicated New Beginnings volunteers, where they are cared for as beloved family members until adoption. Each dog receives veterinary care from licensed professionals, including treatment for medical conditions identified while in foster care.
We Rehome
Our foster families take great care in finding the best possible forever home for each dog. Because they understand their foster dog’s unique personality and needs, the foster family makes the final adoption decision.
